• Shed members attend free of charge.

Men’s Health Night

Buderim Men’s Shed is hosting a free Men’s Health Night on Tuesday November 25, 2025 from 6.30pm to 9.00pm. Three expert presenters will cover new treatment options for prostate problems, mental coping strategies for transitioning into retirement, and the health benefits of moving out of your comfort zone.. Supper will also be provided. Registration is requested – search online for Trybooking Buderim Mens Shed. Or just come along to 38 Advance Road Kuluin on November 26 at 6.15pm.

Men are puzzle when it comes to their own health behaviours. They love to know stuff like what foods are healthy, what activities are good for them, how to build a strong body and they take pride in their physical capacity. But they are often not particularly enthusiastic about doing any of them. Their busy lives seem to be a barrier. Not true for all of them of course, but the fact that men die younger than women from many causes suggests it is a widespread problem.

If there was a pill, herb or tonic that would improve a man’s energy levels, lifespan, agility, lean body mass (less weight), clear thinking and sexual function every bloke on the planet would be demanding access to it. All those benefits with no real effort. No need to watch his diet, do more exercise or change his habits. But until then, he is at risk of getting sick before his time, probably quite unwell. Or losing his edge in terms of memory and planning skills. Or physically fading as his strength, agility, balance and energy deteriorates. Or all of them.

The Buderim Men’s Shed recognises these challenges for men as they age and does what it can to be the mythical pill. To provide the structure, support, education and motivation for each man to make better decisions and to live a healthier life but it does require effort on his part. As part of their commitment to men’s health the Shed is hosting it’s third annual Men’s Health Night on Tuesday November 25th.

This free event is not just for Shed members; it is for any man looking ahead to healthier ageing and wanting to learn strategies and changes that tip the scales in his favour. It is also for his mates, his wife or other family members on his team.
Three health professionals will speak on their areas of expertise – Dr Stuart Collins on prostate problems; Dr John Barletta on ‘Forging a Great Retirement’; and Prof. Craig Allingham on the perils of living a comfortable life. Plus, supper.
Venue is the Buderim Men’s Shed – 38 Advance Road, Kuluin. Parking available.

Registration is requested, go to the link below, mark Nov 25 in your diary for 6.30 start and 9pm finish – trybooking.com/events/DETLM
